A ride on some steep mountain roads, followed by a nice jaunt through some open rolling hills that reminded me a lot of Eastern Kansas.
I took a ride through the Mark Twain National Forest, right along the Arkansas/Missouri line. Very scenic and rough area, you could spend weeks exploring all the roads and trails here.
A brief report of my trip south to the Eureka Springs, Arkansas area, including some interesting stops along the way to check out some bike shops, trails, and to talk with a man riding his bike cross-country.
After enduring a stretch of cold, snow, and ice, temperatures finally moderated and I got out for a nice long bike ride, one of those days where you just don’t want to stop riding…
Finished up a long ride, but in considerable discomfort. I’m looking at shoulder issues and shoe issues. Not sure what the answer is, but I need to start figuring this out before I can go longer.
Before the next round of Winter weather rolled in, I set out on a nice long ramble through the area around Freeman, Missouri, and discovered some fascinating history and some strange abstract art.
