I've been riding one for over a year now. It can handle anything from moderate paced group rides, centuries, snow commuting, gravel riding, etc... and do it all with confidence. It's hard to explain why I like riding it so much. I agree that the stock brakes are lackluster, but new brake pads (koolstop) seemed to corrrect that problem. I've also been using Schwalbe Marathon Supreme tires for almost all of my riding. They are heaving, but VERY comfortable. Enjoy the ride. Glad your enjoying the LHT.
